Aylah Ireland:

Madness

Mixed media, paper, wool and acrylic yarn, styrofoam and paint chips.
This installation explores the connections between color theory and madness using knitted fibers and a strict color palette of yellow tones. There is a personal madness in the process of knitting; the constant repetition and duplication of the previous stitch knitting might create a meditative state for some, not for me. My experience in this project reflected that of the monotony of daily life, exasperating my fidgiting neuroses.
